becomes STUBS Patron. Sir Ian McGeechan OBE has agreed to become Patron
of STUBS with immediate effect. On taking up his appointment,
Sir
Ian said:
“I am honoured to have been asked to become Patron for such a worthwhile
cause. Our servicemen and women deserve our utmost respect and gratitude
for putting their lives on the line to defend us. I have been to a
number of fantastic STUBS events and met some true heroes who have
served on the front line. It is a humbling experience to talk to those
individuals who have suffered life changing injuries and often lost
comrades as well. I hope that by becoming a Patron, I can encourage
others to play a part in giving something back to those brave men and
women who serve Queen and country so selflessly.”
We're all absolutely delighted to welcome one of the kindest and most
respected men in rugby onboard as our Patron, and we look forward to
working with him and his wife Judy in the future.

STUBS are delighted to accept the donation of a portable overhead
projector from Loudwater-
 based
SecuriCare Medical. Customer Services Director Stuart Short presented
the projector to STUBS Founder Craig Vassie. The lightweight overhead
will be really useful for STUBS in making fundraising presentations to
medium sized audiences where full IT facilities aren't available, and is
a valuable addition to our equipment stocks. |
12th November 2009. STUBS has been chosen
as a benefactor of The Dallaglio Foundation, the official charity of
London WASPS. Club Owner, Steve Hayes, said: “This is a fantastic way of
recognising the extraordinary courage and dedication that our young men
and women show every day of their lives. We are proud and honoured to
support them in this way.”

11th October 2009. STUBS
were delighted to host over 350 servicemen and women, and their
families,
 at
the WASPS v Racing Metro Amlin Challenge Cup match. The match saw the
half-time launch of the High Wycombe Poppy Appeal, which STUBS helped to
organise on behalf of the Royal British Legion. The pictures shows 95
year old Monty Seymour, President of the High Wycombe RBL, receiving a
symbolic initial poppy from Headley Court patients 19 year old Marine
Johnny Linker, and 35 year old Royal Engineer Dave Patterson, both of
whom were severely injured in Afghanistan. |
14th September 2009. The STUBS
Back To School Curry night event raised a magnificent £4500. Guest of
Honour "Mr Lions" Ian McGeechan OBE and 100 guests enjoyed a fun-filled
evening at The Old Bengal restaurant in Beaconsfield.

Andy Tagg with their auction prize - a signed Lions shirt kindly donated
by Ian.
Our next Buckinghamshire event is the STUBS
Rewards Day on the Saturday 12th December. Enjoy a morning's shooting at
the E J Churchill shooting ground, followed by lunch at Adams Park, and
the WASPS v Bayonne Amlin Challenge Cup fixture.

15th July 2009. STUBS is
delighted to acknowledge a donation of £1000 from specialist
international removers Cadogan Tate.

1st June 2009. STUBS has received a
donation of €50 from Jack Thorpe, Director of the
 Musée
de la Cité d'Ercan, located in the village of Erquinghem-Lys, near
Armentieres in Northern France.The museum
details local history including the Great War, and contains many unique
artifacts dating from that period. It particularly celebrates the
"Dicky's Dash" operation of June 1917 led by the Liverpool Scottish,
several of whom are buried in the cemetery at Erquinhem-Lys. |

Logitech donates products for sale
on
eBay to raise funds for STUBS. Multimedia IT giant Logitech, whose
UK headquarters are in Slough, have donated products to STUBS which are
on sale on eBay to raise funds.
 The
first sale is of the Pure-Fi Anywhere rechargeable iPod speakers. This
innovative product is one of Logitech's best sellers.
The universal docking station will mate with a
large number of IPods and compatibles, and older models can connect
directly via a 3.5mm AV-in speaker jack.
The rechargeable battery gives a 10 hour play
between charges.

the last WASPS home game of the season.

launched. We're delighted to today launch the new version of our web
